I
started my musical career very young, when I was
about 10 years old. I started playing the ukelele
and singing in talent shows with my sisters. At
age twelve, I got my first guitar, learned to
play it and started the band " The Young
Rebels" in 1970 with Carroll and Mike Chataignier
& Donnie Thibodeaux. We were a band with good
vocals, o.k. music and a good following. We disbanded
in 1973 and formed a band called "Charlie"
with again: Mike and Carroll Chataignier, Mike
Comeaux, and Al Mallet. This group lasted till
1974, regrouped with different members, and finally
disbanded for good in 1976. I joined with "Allen
Wayne and Friends" till 1977, joined "Horizon"
till 1978 and then left Horizon with three of
their other members to form "The Nikl Beer
Band." We asked Terry Guidry and Huey Kern
to join the band that same year.
I left " Nikl-Beer" in 1987 to take
three years away from the music scene. In 1990
I joined "The Classics" and played with
them until 1993. Anatole Larroque was also a member
of the Classics. In 1994, I rejoined "The
Nikl-Beer Band" and a little later, introduced
the horn players who played for the "Classics."
I have been very excited to play with a great
bunch of guys. Our band is very fortunate to have
had such a great following over the years, and
we thank all of you for that. We will continue
to do this for as long as people enjoy our music.
See you soon!
